About CardCouch

CardCouch is a small, independent site for playing classic card games in your browser. Pick a game and the cards are dealt: no download, no sign-up, no cost. There are 14 games today, each with a computer opponent or a solo layout, plus plain-English guides to the rules and the strategy.

Why it exists

Most free card-game sites bury the table under pop-ups, timers and sign-up walls. We wanted the opposite: a quiet table that loads fast, reads clearly on a phone and gets out of the way. The goal for every game is the same four words: simple, clean, working, enjoyable.

How the games are built

• Standard rules. Each game follows the most widely played version of its rules, and the game's rules page describes exactly how our version plays and scores.
• Fair shuffles. Every deal is a fresh, unbiased shuffle. Nothing is arranged to make you win, lose or keep playing. FreeCell uses numbered deals on purpose, so a layout can be replayed.
• Computer players with levels. The games against the computer come with difficulty levels, so a beginner can learn and a regular still gets a game.
• Your game is kept. Close the tab mid-hand and the game is still there when you come back, along with your personal bests and win–loss record.

Built to be easy to read and use

Cards use large indexes and high-contrast colours, in a dark and a light theme. Every game can be played with a keyboard alone, and each play is announced for screen-reader users. Phones are treated as a first-class screen, not a shrunken desktop.

Privacy, in short

There are no accounts. Settings, statistics and saved games live in your own browser, on your device, and are never sent to us. We use anonymous analytics to see which games people play and where they get stuck. The details are in the privacy policy.

Is CardCouch really free?

Yes. Every game and every guide is free, with no account, no download and nothing to buy.

Do I need to sign up or install anything?

No. Open a game and it deals. CardCouch runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and you can add it to your home screen like an app if you want to.

Are the deals random?

Yes. Every deal is a fresh, unbiased shuffle of the full deck. Deals are never arranged to make you win, lose or keep playing. FreeCell is the one exception by design: its deals are numbered, so the same number always gives the same layout and you can retry or share it.

What do you store about me?

Your settings, statistics, win–loss records and any unfinished game are saved in your own browser, on your device. There are no accounts, so none of that is sent to us. Anonymous usage statistics and advertising are described in the privacy policy.

Is Blackjack played for real money?

No. Blackjack on CardCouch uses play-money chips only. Chips cannot be bought, sold or cashed out, and there is no gambling anywhere on the site.
