Play Euchre online free — partnership trick-taking with the bowers
Euchre (pronounced YOO-ker, and often spelled uker or yuker by ear) is the fast, punchy partnership game played with a 24-card deck where the Jack of trump — the right bower — is the highest card in the game and the Jack of the same color becomes the left bower. Play Euchre online free on CardCouch: you and North against West and East, first partnership to 10 points wins.
Every hand runs through the two bidding rounds — order up the turned card or pass, then name a suit or pass — with the option to go alone for a four-point march. The computer partner and opponents bid on real hand strength and defend to euchre over-ambitious makers.
On CardCouch
- Proper Euchre rules: 24-card deck, bowers, two bidding rounds, going alone, stick-the-dealer.
- An AI partner that actually helps: on Hard it leads to your calls, and it never overtakes your winning card.
- Three difficulty levels, scores to 10, and a clear hand-by-hand result ("Euchred!", "March!").
- Plays on any phone or desktop with the keyboard, a mouse or touch; no download, no sign-up.
Frequently asked questions
- Is stick-the-dealer used?
- Yes, always. If the three other players pass twice and the dealer once, the dealer must name a trump suit rather than throwing the hand in.
- Can I go alone?
- Yes. When you name trump you can choose to go alone; your partner sits out and taking all five tricks scores four points.
- How many points is a game of Euchre?
- The first partnership to reach 10 points wins. Making your bid scores 1, a march (all five tricks) scores 2, a lone march scores 4, and euchring the makers scores 2 for the defenders.
- Is there a solitaire or single-player Euchre?
- Euchre needs four hands, so there is no true solitaire version. Playing here is the single-player way: the computer plays your partner and both opponents, and a closed tab or reload brings the same game back.
- Do I need to sign up to play Euchre?
- No. Open the page and deal. Everything is free, nothing is installed, and your difficulty setting is remembered on your device.
